In mid-January, the Liberal Party of Canada came together in Ottawa to choose its next president. And while Mike Crawley would eventually go on to claim the party presidency, it wasn’t a cakewalk by any means – his closest rival, Sheila Copps, came within a hair’s breadth of winning.
